How to Measure for a Salwar Kameez (in Inches)
Size labels like S, M and L mean different things at every shop, so they are not much help. Inches are. Every set at Kameez House lists its measurements in inches, and this guide shows you how to take yours — the easiest way is from a kameez you already love.
What you need
A soft measuring tape, and a kameez that fits you well. Lay it flat on a bed or table, smooth out the wrinkles, and measure with the tape flat — not stretched tight, and not loose.
The four numbers that matter
| Measurement | How to take it |

| Chest | Measure straight across the kameez, from one armpit seam to the other. That is the flat chest width — compare it with the chest on the listing. |
| Kameez length | From the highest point of the shoulder seam, straight down to the hem. This decides whether the top ends at your hip, your thigh or your knee. |
| Sleeve length | From the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve — to the elbow for 3/4 sleeves, to the wrist for full sleeves. |
| Trouser length | From the top of the waistband to the hem. For palazzo pants, also check the flare — the width across the hem. |
How to measure yourself
If you have no kameez to copy, measure your body with the tape level and snug, not tight: around the fullest part of your chest for chest, from your shoulder to where you want the hem for length, and from your waist to your ankle for trouser length. Add about an inch of ease to the chest so the kameez is comfortable, not skin-tight.
